SOS Doghouse LFW

SO the lovely and incredibly talented creator of Doghouse invited me to a party to celebrate the release of a limited edition Tee created for London Fashion Week.

I went with two of my lovely friends and we had THE best time ever.

The most peculiar thing ever was walking into Eastbloc where the party was being held and seeing posters and projections of me exhibiting the amazing brand that is Doghouse. I felt extremely embarrassed at first but I feel honoured to have been involved in such an up and coming brand.

(this is my 'i'm embarrassed' face - resemblant of a small hamster)

striking a pose with the Dogfather. Anything goes.

& (especially) georgia and I working it on the catwalk

So go and invest in some Doghouse Couture right now.

the Rae Morris Effect.

Burberry Acoustic never fails.

one word …

BEAUTIFUL.

jeremy scott & more.

Jeremy Scott is a collection I always look forward to. I can't say I am in ore of his collections as a unified body of work, however he has FRESH ideas and there are always individual pieces or outfits which i would kill for.

In his Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, that was on the catwalk today, the shock factor is definitely present and he lives up to all his expectations. I am so 50/50 about this collection….

Jeremy Scott is best know for his collaborations with Adidas - the winged sneeks, they have become an iconic shoe along with his trainers which have a furry creature replacing the tongue of the shoe. It is undeniable that these have made his career however, I feel the depths of his talent are displayed when he sticks to experimenting with colour, texture and the actual contours of garments.

I understand that it is important for him to remain close to his origins, however i feel the reoccurring Bart Simpson somewhat down grade what is other wise an incredible collection - I think I might have even embraced the giant unicorn as It somewhat makes sense of the dream-like, over-the-rainbow, magical-land theme.

I like his bold use of colour and texture considering it's a winter collection,

BUT

what i LOVE most of all is his choice to make matching separates a key piece to the collection. I can not tell you how much I need an outfit which is completely matching (& has cone detailing!!!)

So until these amazing Jeremy Scott ones are available I'll just have to invest in this slightly cheaper version from ASOS.

But I have to say I will be purchasing some items from this collection FOR SURE.

On a more personal note, and away from fashion I just wanted to take a moment to share with you the view from my flat. I can't tell you how impressive it is in real life… the colours which flood the sky at night and in the morning are just incredible and I'm always reaching for my camera… I have hundreds more just like these.

how far is too far?!

So I'm not particularly active when it comes to animal rights.
But I guess it's never too late to become active. I am all for experimental fashion….. and understand that fur was used in the past as a measure of survival, but as a modern western country I just can't help but pose the question how far is too far?
this coat is made from Monkey Fur… it is for sale on one of my favourite vintage online stores but for some reason it's really hit a nerve.

It was utterly wrong in the first place but, because it's already been done does that make it ok to buy or wear now?
Personally I just don't think it's ok to condone buying such produce.

I don't remember who it was, but I was having a conversation with someone about Lindsay Lohan. I was saying I thought she was hot… and I have to say these photographs taken by one of my favourite photographers; Terry Richardson do her every justice. The references to Marilyn are somewhat interesting…
If I remember correctly there have been several shoots of Lohan which are Monroe Inspired and it somewhat makes me raise the second question of this post: Is Lohan the modern day Monroe?

both battling with drugs and bad relationships and both undeniably beautiful and talented it seems fair to suggest that Lohan's frivolous and self-indulgent lifestyle is leading her the same way that Marilyn's did.

Terry Richardson never fails to take an immaculate photo - Lindsay is a consistent subject of his and he really does know how to translate her beauty onto a still image.

(also I love how she is rocking the Topshop Unique jumper dress)

Also I apologise for the heavy post.. I'm reading Plato's 'The Republic' and feeling somewhat philosophical.

One more thing.

Terry Richardson has also recently photographed Lana Del Rey, I am fully aware that I posted her Video on here last year but I'm not going to lie.. I hadn't heard her live or even seen an interview with her. IRRELEVANT. Is the only word that comes to mind.

So instead of posting her on here, meet LLAMA Del Rey. In every sense more interesting than the real deal.

no secrets.

It's no secret I am a massive Jefferey Campbell fan,

not only because his shoes are so comfortable, and the Lita is such an iconic shoe that is being copied all over the high street, but also because he continues to switch it up, bringing out new shoes ALL the time and always pushing boundaries.

These beauties are no exception.
They remind me of Robyn's shoes which, we were swooning over at Bestival.

YUM.

february

Happy February guys and girlies.

Here's a collage of things I've discovered recently.

Loving this video from Prada.
not only have they styled the clothes beautifully, and in a completely wearable way, but they also use a clip of M.I.A….
love it.

I have to say however, I have mixed emotions about the flame sandals. I just don't think they work. I think a flame by itself is bold and harsh, and then the sandal is so dainty -  but maybe that's the irony.
They may grow on me but I'm just not a fan of a kitten heel.
GO HARD OR GO HOME.

keeping the spring/summer 2012 theme…
a collection I am swooning over…

Mundi-Vondi SS12 collection demonstrates how a collection with such unity of concepts can have such an impact.

I love the use of such dark colours for a SS collection.

also… a couple of weeks ago I went on a mass vintage buying hunt. I am currently in the process of taking photo's of all the stuff to put on Ebay. & on Sunday I'm going to be helping out at the Stratford Topshop Staff Personal Shopping Evening, so I'm going to take my camera with my so I can show you guys.

Last week I worked with the Stylist I assist on another shoot. It was for a look book of solely British designers. The shoot turned out amazing, as they always do with Natalie, so I can't wait to show you.

also look how stylish my lovely friends looked last night as they went off to the opening of an exhibition.

Lastly I am very aware it's not a new track, but it is SUCH a tune. So thanks to my beautiful bean Rosa for introducing it to me.
