street style.

so here's my first street style post..

the trends are pretty scatty to be honest, but theres some lovely individual items.
some pictures didn't come out because of bad lighting so heres the best of the bunch.

these girls looked casual in their fur jackets

this shows how accessories can really add to an outfit.

because i'm a great fan of shirts done all the way up under jumpers. its simple and casual.

oversized jackets.. a winner for spring.

point to make here -  i really like the way this guy was dressed. his style was understated but current. I want to know where all the well dressed guys in leeds were hidden?...

monochrome done well.. completed with a black bow in her hair. simple and it works.

i liked this girls knee-lenght dress and this guys oversized, long aviator.
my lovely friend sophie was out in leeds.. she has such a definite style, very consistent... as she said she 'was born in the wrong era' i love her tapestry style bag and silk scarf.

i really like some of the things people were wearing but i still think leeds has more to offer so next time I'm down visiting my sister--->
i'll update you on what people in leeds are wearing.

ps. i am love LOVE the top she has on in this photo i took of her today.. 'Livin' dreams sellin' creams' by  Stussy and it has a photo of an ice cream van. jokes buy me a coke.

pop up store.

So my street style blog post is running late, but it is a work in progress.. this is due to bad weather and a sea of Uggs which seems to have flooded leeds... not good. It will be up as soon as possible.

also in the works is a post on shoes.. for the fella's out there... a little bit of spring inspiration for you, should be up today or tomorrow!

But the main point of this post is that there is that there is news of a pop up store has come my way  -

Bape are running a pop up store in london, it follows the success of the pop up stores they had in New York and Tokyo.
it opens on the 22nd of this month!! It is open for 9 days only and every day will be releasing a limited edition pirate themed item of clothing, which will be exclusive to the london store. They will also be selling 'factory seconds'  -  restocking hard to find items..

its in Brick lane..

Dray walk, 91 Brick lane

so if you are in the area.. check it out.

Froggy tea party.

i have just had the most surreal saturday night ever.
the idea was a formal tea party, wearing home made frog masks...
it was definitely a winner!

we sat outside and drank tea, there was jazz music, guitar and a random trumpet. it was nothing less than beautiful.

a first for the world?

definitely an inventive way to spend a saturday night!

just to make this post fashion orientated as well, i have found a collection which i LOVE!

it is so much more than perfect and completely wearable.. i think it sums up how i am going to aim to dress in the coming months.

it is by GIAMBATTISTA VALLI...

check out a few of my favourite looks...

orange.. colour of the SS11?

i would buy this complete outfit right now if i had the money. individually or together these this dogtooth ensemble screams perfection.

very clean and edgy, im loving the bell shaped tops.

this dress steals the show.

think i'm going to start saving so i can own at least one item from this collection

BITS AND BOBS

hello,

so the main focus of my blog is definitely fashion however, fashion and music are never far apart.

this video was dropped on youtube... TODAY... and it needs to be watched.
it is a live performance by UK singer/songwriter/producer James Blake of his track 'Wilhelm scream' from his self titled album and i think it is just beautiful.

what do you think?

and just to switch it up...

the new album by Black Flag and Circle Jerks frontman Keith Morris, teamed with a few other fellows, they call themselves OFF!

'a vital blast of classic hardcore' as it has been described.

heres a track from the album which dropped towards the end of last year...

i really like the video, the images and the general feel.. and they really capture the 80's punk vibe with their explosive sound.

RIGHT! back to fashion!

seeing my love for Chanel was taken to a whole new level with a tattoo... i feel it only appropriate to post a few pictures from the breathtaking ss11 collection... i am even more in love it with it as there is a whole lot of feathers and fringing.

chanel does monochrome like no one else. Karl is a genius. love, love, LOVE the frayed hems which appear through out the collection - adds a modern twist to otherwise classic items such as a tweed jacket.

FEATHERS! this amazing apricot number.. i just hope this makes it on to a red carpet at least once this year.

Brad Koenig and his son! SO adorable... but the denim cowboy boots? KARL WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

feud ended!...the still beautiful Ines de la Fressange took to the runway with K.L to finish the amazing show. The dress she is wearing is perfect.. who says summer has to mean pastel colours?

favourite piece from the whole collection is these tweet hot pants. They are so bang on the 'sport shorts' trend but have the chanel stamp with the use of such a classic chanel material LOVE.
Leigh Lezark..i think this outfit is perfect. her shoes match her jet black hair and bring the look together.... i think, once again, its the feathering which create the WOW factor.

is that you courtney?... looking very elegant! i admire the fact Love can switch her look from grunge to glam ... being a chameleon is one of my favourite past times.

so the show was amazing.. i wouldn't say the same for the campaign however.. looks like they were lacking on the budget ... or something. Chanel is known for its classic images.. the model looks good! and i love the 'moth eaten' jackets from this collection but seriously .. this is more Topshop than Chanel.. and there is nothing wrong with Topshop i love it! but such a high fashion brand with such a strong image, which it is so admired for, should stick a bit closer to home!

Lastly, i went out onto the streets of leeds and took some street style photos but i didn't find that many people.. i feel leeds has more to offer... the guys and gallys i did take photos of were lovely... there was a lot of fur..(sorry animal rights lovers) lets hope its fake... so the complete street style will be up by sunday evening..

well thats all

... and breath.

leeds

so i just got to leeds, back to my room which is as grimey as ever, after a 5 hour trip on the megabus. got a really good response on facebook for my first post which was nice, thanks guys.

so anyways... point of the post....

firstly, sat on the megabus i felt quite out of place... so i took a photo. I couldn't resist wearing the feather bands we made yesterday even if all i was doing was travelling.

secondly - whilst i'm in leeds I'm going to do go out and find some stylish people on the street for inspiration; this should be posted by the end of the weekend so watch this space.

thirdly - i forgot to say in my first post, please don't forget to leave comments, tips, advice... good or bad, just make it constructive.

lastly a little something to wet you ears...
its beautiful and i love the concept of a high fashion brand doing live music sessions.

and to kick start it all off,
my bro, chloe and my dear friend georgia helped me to do a shoot.

basically i put together some outfits i styled as well as DIY feather headbands with the help of my bro! quick shout to her blog ottnails.blogspot.com she's amazing.

i went for 3 themes.

feathers and fringing. (personal favourite)
black and nude

i love the texture of the outfits.
and our versatile feather headbands. proving DIY can be better than shop bought produce.

my favourite items used in the shoot are the american apparel disco pants. they are just god.. nipping and tucking in ALL the right places.
my elvis bag just because elvis is my obsession.
and my minnie mouse creepers.. because creepers are fer sure the new D.M's.
