I'm back.

ok, so first off, happy new year.
I haven't posted in AGES because of the christmas period and exams etc.
But I'm back today with a bumper post.

Ok so i think the first thing i have to mention is my rediculously expanding shoe collection.

Over christmas my collection expanded quite a bit.

(a new pair of J.Cs has landed…. art or shoes? they're unworn meaning I still haven't decided)

triple sole creepers. I love them a little bit more every day.

And then i go on to bits and bobs that I think are heavy at the moment.
Including…

This Jeremy Scott x Addidas tee… which showcases their elaborate trainers from previous collections.

Then there's these loafers… Dr. Martens x Bape….

I really like them as D.M's but i just don't see the Bape input and think its a bit of a cop out as far as collaborations go.

Secondly I am thinking to sell on my low rider… (cry cry) to replace it with something a little more practical… I'm thinking along these lines….

and just to make this personal, and for the sake of how i used to post… heres a shot of what I was wearing the other day when I went to this amazing Thai restaurant on Old Street called Busaba.

( plus it was Elvis' birthday yesterday, so birthday wishes to the king)

my favourite Calvin Klein belt which my ma'm handed down to me.

Plus yesterday I spent the day exploring london, and went to the Tate Modern and forgot how much I love art.
I really hate all this 'new year, new you' stuff but I'm definitely going to make a point of going to more galleries and exhibitions this year.

I really like the irony of this installation by Michelangelo Pistoletto.

Plus this is a bit of a stolen girl crush from my lovely friend grace;

Rita Ora.

Rihanna and her crotch grabbing ways could learn a thing or two about style and singing.
and thats it. but, and i know i always say this, will try to be more frequent.

Styling A/W 11

So here goes..
i did a little photo shoot with my lovely girlys Libby and Chloe.

It was mainly for my styling portfolio, and to pick up on the Autumn/Winter 2011 trends which are beginning to drop.

I based it around trends seen on the A/W catwalk as well as the Topshop trends which are gradually coming together for A/W.

1st look.
Emerald.
key thoughts - A midi skirt and cropped jumper are SO wearable and perfect for the cold winter.
It is a progression of last years maxi and jumper.
Colour block is still in for A/W so wack on your emeralds and ruby's to make a statement.

The heels below are wonderfully hideous. Wit the right look they could work.

Monochrome is still a key trend for another year running.
Topshop have some amazing pieces in at the moment.
Key thoughts - to make this work keep it simple.
i paired tapered trousers with a simple black leotard, some incredible low heeled ankle boots and a wonderful jacket with leather trims.

The boots make it casual and suitable for everyday wear.

The masculine trend.
key thoughts -  Pencil skirts and creepers = BIG DEAL.
wear an oversized printed t-shirt with a knee length pencil skirt to be right on trend.
and DON'T forget your creepers. Wear them with everything to give you a masculine edge which is so on point.

And for those winter days, layer with an asymmetric woollen jumper. Yet another Midi and jumper Combo.

Winter prints.
in Topshop this trend is called Bavaria.
Although it has only come into store in dribs and drabs it is supposedly a winter version of the festival trend.
Key thoughts - Bold prints mixed and matched.

The next look is based around the trend in Topshop called prim and proper.
I have attempted to catch the essence of this girly trend through a colour story of pastels and wacked on winter wedges to give it a winter touch.
Key thoughts - Midi and jumper.

A big feature of Prim and Proper and from  the catwalks is 70's inspired clothing.

key thoughts - a 70's inspired coat is and east way to be on trend without making too much effort.

the next look was simple.

Key thoughts - Oversized, bulked out coats and jumpers.
It was with out a doubt my favourite look from the A/W catwalks and this bat - winged jacked is so simple yet stunning on. Wear with bare legs and some chunky winter wedges or boots to complete the look.

The next look i pulled was for New Mod - as Topshop have called the trend.

It is the masculine trend.
Think 60's inspired tailoring.
key thoughts - Shirts with a round neck jumper a pair or 7/8 leg length trousers and creepers.
the 7/8 leg length is still big but make it wintery with a pair of creepers or winter boots.

Chokers are the Jewellery must have of the season.

the next looks is once again a based around clean tailoring.
key thoughts - Wear a printed tee like the one below to add a fresh twist to the tailored look.

I reiterate - colour blocking is still big just think deeper colours.
Key thoughts - Beaded detail gives a colour block outfit a metallic feel.
Metallics are a BIG deal for A/W

(tin foil at the ready fellow space men)

Lastly Florals can still be worked for A/W 11.
Key thoughts - Think of florals which possess a kaleidoscope effect. Kaleidoscope effects are all the rage for this season.

Thanks to everyone that helped out.
And all clothes are from Topshop.

plus i will post the catwalk inspiration within the next couple of days
